Very useful in the two-step impression technique as it easily cleans interdental spaces and cuts out escape channels for the flowable material. Its sharp concave ends simplify preparation of the first impression made with the putty, with easy silicone removal from the interdental spaces before application of the flowable material over the first impression. This process, plus cutting channels to allow excess flowable material to escape during the second correction impression, mean the tray can be reinserted in its original position without distortions and without altering the natural emergence profile of the preparation, without generating unnecessary thicker areas that may alter the volume of the impression.
