IPS is a ceramic etching gel that enhances the adhesion between the composite cement and the ceramic surface. IPS must not be applied in the mouth as it contains almost 5% hydrofluoric acid; a highly corrosive and toxic chemical that should only be handled with gloves and protective eyewear. The pack contains a vial with neutralising powders.
